Started in 1986, the Pro Fidelitate et Virtue Award is conferred each year at the Institute on Religious Life’s National Meeting to someone who has been outstanding in the support and promotion of authentic religious life.
Today's episode is honoring our 2018 award recipient and founder of the IRL, Rev. .Joseph Fessio, SJ. Father Fessio co-founded and became the first editor of Ignatius Press, one of the premiere Catholic publishers in the English-speaking world, producing books, videos and other catechetical resources. From 2002 to 2009 he served as chancellor, provost and theologian-in-residence at Ave Maria University. Father Fessio continues to be involved with other Catholic organizations such as Lighthouse Catholic Media, and The Augustine Institute.
Today, we will be listening to a talk he gave at his acceptance of this award titled, The Renewal of Western Civilization. Thank you and we hope you enjoy!
